Good Idea Regrets

Ahh here we go!

We'll I woke up this morning put my feet on the floor
Couldn't quite remember much about the day before.
Then I saw something moving from the side of the bed
Lord have mercy have I lost my head
Oh what could’ve happened, tell me how could this be
That pretty young thing must have got a hold of me
She stirred and I froze, couldn't believe my eyes
Tryin’ to rewind and remember every beer from last night

It’s one of those “what was I thinkin’” kind of nights
Where the truth don’t show up till the morning light
I blame the band, the bar, and the whiskey on ice
And that smile that said “boy, you’ll be fine”
Yeah I swore I was headin’ straight home to my bed
Now I’m sharin’ a pillow with a stranger instead
Lord help me remember, or help me forget
Im having One of those “seemed like a good idea” regrets

There’s a rhinestone heel where my work boots should be
And a phone charger that sure don’t belong to me
My wallet’s still here, but my pride’s gone missin’
And there’s a note on the dresser sayin’ “thanks for listenin’”
I whispered “good mornin’,” she said “who are you?”
I said “same question, darlin’, so how do you do?”
Now I’m makin’ strong coffee, takin’ stock of my sins
Hopin’ this story don’t make it back to my friends

It’s one of those “what was I thinkin’” kind of nights
Where the truth don’t show up till the morning light
I blame the band, the bar, and the whiskey on ice
And that smile that said “boy, you’ll be fine”
Yeah I swore I was headin’ straight home to my bed
Now I’m sharin’ a pillow with a stranger instead
Lord help me remember, or help me forget
Im having One of those “seemed like a good idea” regrets
